Well, vacation is officially over and I'm trying to ease back into work. *sigh*
Not that work is extremely demanding, but all the same, it - to put it bluntly - sucks to be back there. Especially since it's still absolutely fabulous weather. But, enough with the whining. I am back to a working internet connection, which is of the good.
Also sorting out personal RL stuff that needed to be sorted and staying offline until it's done. Should be back on irc tomorrow, hopefully, though.
Short vacation report as follows:
As planned; didn't do much. Slept, read, went to the beach, read, chopped down a tree, read, and spent some time with my closest friends.
Not as planned; didn't get to read as many books as I had thought I would since I (strictly against the Plan) got sucked into the Harrington-universe and didn't just skim those books but instead read them completely(though I did skip some of the Peep's politics parts that didn't involve Theisman, and some of the Super LAC division stuff because it's plain boring).
The Buffy-bout right before, and the Harrington-universe-bout during, vacation made for some oddly disturbing dream collisions and mental imagery though. (Graysons and Angel and Spike faces to.. game-faces? How well does a vampire stand up to a RMN marine in battle armor? Wouldn't every ship benefit from an on-board vampire to do rescue searches in breached compartments? Help...)
So, total sum of books read: 9 Honor Harrington + Pattern (that I'm nearly finished with), and some papers and magazines. (Codex, most notably). This was also due to the fact that I got in far less days for reading than I had thought, only 2 full days, and then snippets of time in between.

I need to watch them again before I go off on vacation, when I'll be completely Buffy-less, not a dvd or downloaded ep. in sight... Teh Horror!
Instead I'm planning on reading lots and lots. Have a nice big pile of unread books. The selection of new books from said pile I'm taking with me to read:

I'm not saying I'll be reading them all, only that I have them to choose between. ;)
But hopefully I'll be able to read as many as possible. The Honor Harrington books are re-reads though, so I'll just be skimming and reading the best part.. so I should get through them in a day or so.

I'm addicted to VAST mp3s at the moment. And before anyone goes into a huff, I have actually ordered the two cds, so there. ;)
I'm also fresh out of Buffy epsisodes now, since I've caught up and watched all through season 6. I'm thinking of buying the Angel season 2 box set, but the drawback is that since Buffy season 5 isn't out yet and there's spoilers in Angel for Buffy... it'll be hard watching. Because certain other members of the household have not watched, and do not want to watch, the not-so-high-res. copies on the computer but is holding out for the DVD versions. That will be out, optimistically speaking, in mid-October. Woe. And the spoilery episodes really spoils some fun things.. and some not fun things. Especially the last episode which is not advicable to watch at all, unless you've already seen Buffy 5:22 or already knows the spoiler. Bah.
At least a couple of co-workers and I have decided to start watching through Buffy episodes starting with season 3, one evening a week, so that should keep us occupied up until season 5 is released... hopefully.
