Watching Buffy 5x05 on a projector really brings home the synch errors. They're not at all as noticable on a tv. And to imagine that this set of DVDs are still less out of synch then the first set I bought (and returned). Bleh.

Is this Idiot Day?
* Yes, please send me a file that is a printout printed to file with no means of opening it. The perfect choice when one chould have choosen the little button that says 'Send' instead.
* You've not seen any errors when you checked the log files then? Oh you don't know of any log files? Well, I mean the log files created when the conversion is run. Which is particularly pointed out, in the accompanying letter with the CD which is vital to read before trying to run the conversion at all.
* When informed months in advance that the new version will only run reliably on SQL Server 2000, and you install it on a SQL Server 6.5: Don't. Bug. Me.
* Ask me to mail the answer and then hang up without asking if I have the e-mail address or giving me time to ask for it. A splendid way to get an answer.

Blogger is not liking me today.. error, error, error... ' Error 203:java.lang.NumberFormatException: (server:page)'. Blah. Signing out and then signing in seems to solve it, but it's quite bothersome.

Back to normal colours, and the template has been cleaned up and altered... not quite how I want it, but closer. Too tired to work on it more tonight.
(Not that blogger is helping me either, bugging out all the time as it is.)

This Saturday's party (SO's 30th birthday party) was quite successful, thankfully. Everyone ate too much, but drank with caution, and we all realized that we're getting old. Most prominent evidence for this is:
* Bashing 'new' music
* Agreeing on that most recently released good music are compilation alumbs, 'Best of' albums, or 'Complete works'
* Several friends are now parents (and they're, friendly, nagging those of us who aren't, to get to it too)
To round up the evening we watched Scrat's missing adventure - Gone Nutty, which everyone laughed their heads off at.
The funniest special feature to ever make a DVD. The Ice Age DVD, to be precise. I loved the first trailer, and still do, but Gone Nutty beats it hands (and paws and tails) down.
Yesterday was spent doing nothing. And watching B5 on DVD. We're halfway through the first season and already have angst over the long(relatively) wait until season two is out. I had honestly forgotten exactly how good it is. In my mind season one was always the weakest season along with season five, but watching it again now, it's really good.

Book recommendation of the day:
Swordspoint was rereleased recently after being out of print for years. It's one of those rare 'must have' books.
It's also a relief since this means I can stop lending out my copy now, it's gotten quite foxeared.

Random thoughts (while shirking wrok)
* Last nigh.. err.. tonights episode of Angel was very good. Tight, fast paced, plot driven, sharp... teeth. By Angel anyway. He's so much more fun Evil.
* Thanks to my hastily devoured tuna sandwich at my desk for lunch, I now have itty bitty pieces of tuna all over said desk. *sigh*
* Weather, thy name is Fickle... Yesterday we had pouring rain like we've not had since... I can't even recall since. This morning a slight snowstorm, and now the sun is shining and it's beautiful and warm(ish) and smells like spring.
* VAST was played in the Angel episode. One of my favorite songs too. A definite plus.
* The local military are having field days this week. Except that tomorrow isn't 'field' at all, it's street fighting. Scheduled for taking place in the streets right outside our flat. If I know them right it'll be either real early or real late, and either way the firing will keep me awake. Oh joy.
* Still am not used to having the episodes the day before they air. Love the bittorrent wildfeeds that downloads at 80kb/sec+...
* Watching Angel season 3 on DVD makes me miss Lindsey. Lindsey come back! Evil hand and all. Especially evil hand. And especially since he's the only one part from Lorne that can carry a tune.

Oh, but on a positive note, I did get a pair of kick-ass boots on sale yesterday. Just the kind I'd been looking for.
And my language is so corrupted by excessive Buffy-watching, I never even notice anymore. Except occasionally.

Work, worrying about work, upcoming birthdays, cold and money shortage is keeping me from doing anything that I really want to. I'm just floundering around, accomplishing absolutely nothing.
At least paypal gave me a new account bonus, so now I can ponder on to what well deserving ends I should donate the $7.25 that sits in my paypal account.
I'll probably go with turok.info.
